VSYSTEMS OFFERS MICHIGAN'S ONLY INTEGRATED ONE-STOP-SHOP TECHNOLOGY SERVICE DESIGNED SPECIFICALLY FOR SMALL AND MEDIUM BUSINESSES

2015 Growth Expected to Double with More Secure and Affordable Technology Packages

BYRON CENTER, Mich. (December 10, 2014) - Virtual Systems (VSystems, www.vsystems.com), a Byron Center-based technology company, has launched Michigan’s only fully integrated virtual desktop, virtual private server and cloud storage system designed to meet the needs of small and medium businesses. The 12-person firm anticipates its revenues doubling in 2015.

“We saw a strong need among small and mid-sized businesses for reliable, affordable and powerful technology services,” said Rob Thurston, director of business development at VSystems. “We’ve worked to develop integrated services that fit businesses’ needs and, as a result, we now are the only Michigan company offering a comprehensive technology solution specifically designed to meet the needs of the underserved small and mid-sized business markets. We have a strong and stable customer base that has grown tremendously in recent months. We expect to see continued, sustained growth not only in Michigan, but beyond as well.”

VSystems’ Virtual Private Servers eliminates all of the procurement, setup and testing hassles of data, email and application servers, allowing business to have faster computing resources with easy remote access on any device. This also saves money by eliminating the need for expensive capital investments, and it backs up customer data to redundant data centers, creating a cost effective and reliable solution for businesses.

VSystems’ Virtual Desktop enables employees to securely access their desktop from any device, including Mac computers, Linux machines, laptops, desktops, tablets and smartphones, over any Internet connection, providing consistent dependability while keeping corporate data more secure and protected from loss. This technology suite is also a viable, less complex and more cost effective option for companies that have been dependent on Citrix based solutions.

Additionally, VSystems’ products are secure, and compliant with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act and Sarbanes Oxley Act, which allows physician offices, law offices, manufacturers, construction firms and many other businesses to have the same accessibility and security assurance as large companies without the overhead of operating an IT department.

“We needed to upgrade our servers and workstations, requiring a large capital investment that we would have to repeat in less than five years,” said Rich Walker, VSystems client and manager of information and technology at Progressive Affiliated Lumberman of Grand Rapids. “Virtual Systems allowed us to upgrade on an as-needed basis without additional capital expense.”

“Our services are specifically designed to enable business to get back to work,” said Michael Wolthuis, chief technology officer at VSystems. “VSystems takes care of the operational side of a customer’s technology, including installation, upkeep and management, which allows a business to improve productivity and increase its bottom line.”

VSystems was formerly a division of Grand Rapids, Michigan-based FreedomNet Solutions, a community internet provider that serves 4,000 customers in Michigan. In response to demand from customers, FreedomNet began developing a technology suite that would provide businesses access to virtual desktops, virtual private servers and private storage. This portion of the business grew quickly and, in response, VSystems officially became an independent company in October 2014 with more than 150 customers and growing.

“As a part of FreedomNet, we learned how to respond to the dynamic needs of small and mid-size businesses,” said Larry VanderVeen, chief executive officer at VSystems. We developed a unique technology suite that grew into a one-stop-shop for all of a business’ computing needs. As VSystems, we can now focus exclusively on providing better computing alternatives that work across all devices, and relieve our customers of IT headaches. We are continuing to improve our services, grow our offerings and cater to our customers’ needs.”

Virtual Systems provides cloud-enabling solutions for businesses of all sizes. Through its virtual desktop, virtual private server and Internet connectivity solutions, organizations can deliver advanced computing performance without putting their corporate data and applications at risk.
